Dear Friends of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul,
We pray that your family and friends are staying safe during this COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, many families in our County are facing unemployment and loss of wages leaving them unable to pay for food, utilities, or rent. Santa Clara County is one of the hardest hit counties in California. As of August 6, 2020, our County has over 11,330 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 196 deaths. Although we have suspended home visits, our volunteers continue to respond to requests for assistance from our Help Line when funds allow. Last fiscal year, SVdP of Santa Clara County provided over $930,000 in direct financial aid to families living in poverty in our community. We anticipate that the demand for financial assistance from families will skyrocket in the coming months. As an example, rental assistance support has more than doubled the historic average, and in the month of June we provided over $106,000.00 in rental assistance alone.
We desperately need your help to continue our mission to serve the poor and respond to requests from struggling families during this crisis. Since Mass has been suspended indefinitely at the Parishes within our Diocese, many of our SVdP Conferences are critically low on funds. We are reaching out to our generous donors requesting your support so that we may continue our important work.
Any and all contributions are greatly appreciated. If you can give, please [click here] for details on how you can support us with a donation.
We are all in this together, and together we can help those most impacted.
May God Bless You and Keep Your Family Safe!
