#GivingTuesday: November 27, 2018
#GivingTuesday is a global giving movement that has been built by individuals, families, organizations, businesses and communities in countries around the world. Millions of people have come together to support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live.
Over the past year, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Santa Clara County responded to over 19,600 calls from families across our community requesting help to pay their rent and utility bills, keep food on the table, and pay medical bills. Many of these families were already homeless or living in their cars. St. Vincent de Paul assisted by providing over $1,086,00.00 in direct financial assistance for shelter, utility bills, medicine, and transportation. We also assisted with $409,000.00 in “in-kind” assistance in the form of food and clothing.
Many times the demand for help exceeds our funding and sadly we must turn families away. We are reaching out to you to request your support on #GivingTuesday so that we may continue our mission to help the homeless and the “most in need” in our community as we have done since 1948. This year’s #GivingTuesday falls on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, but you can donate anytime prior to that if you like.
If you wish to support us with a contribution you can do so by mailing in your donation or donating on-line.
