Holiday Appeal

The holiday season is a time for family gatherings, joyous celebrations, and the sharing of our blessings. But if your family is unhoused or struggling to survive, your holiday wishes may be desperate calls for assistance:

“I need food for my children.”
“My family has received an eviction notice and we will soon be homeless.”
“Our water and power have been turned off. Can you help us?”.

It is not a time for joyous celebrations. Some of these families are already living in their cars or in encampments. Over 128,000 of our neighbors in Santa Clara County live below the poverty line. Due to the uncertainty of when the government will fully restore the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, many are now further burdened with food insecurity.

We thank you for your past support of St. Vincent de Paul. Because of generous people like you, last fiscal year we provided over $1,520,000 in direct financial assistance to needy families in the form of rent payments, utilities bills, transportation expenses, and food. We are reaching out to you this holiday season requesting that you again consider a gift to SVdP. One hundred percent of your gift will go directly to families in need. An anonymous donor has agreed to match all gifts received by December 31 up to $20,000.
