VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
IMPORTANT: Please note that volunteer opportunities are for the Santa Clara County California Area only.
If you are located outside of Santa Clara County California you cannot volunteer at this website. For opportunities in your area please contact your local SVdP by referencing the following link. List of SVdP Locations/Websites
General Office Functions
We are seeking individuals who can volunteer on a weekly basis for 2 or more hours/week. Tasks will vary but they are typically general office functions like mailings, data entry, answering the phone, and filing. Also, if you possess skills in IT and can help us backup systems, address printing and WiFi issues, resolve system configuration issues (nothing too technical), are an expert in QuickBooks, etc… All these are tasks we can use help with from time to time at the main office.
Marketing (Print and On-Line)
Do you have a knack for marketing, SEO, SEM/AdWords, Ad Copy, or social media content creation/posting? Do you have an understanding of WordPress and website maintenance/posting? If so we could use your talents to help us communicate more effectively and get the word out. Many of our fundraising efforts are on-line and this is an area where you can help us get our message out and raise funds and resources to help the needy in our community.
Events
Events are a great way to get your group involved, or to get a quick no-commitment taste of what SVdP is about. But we should warn you… you might like what you experience and make it a habit! Events include clothing drives, back-to-school backpack distributions, Thanksgiving and Christmas Baskets and Christmas Giving Trees.
St. Vincent de Paul Conferences
Conferences are groups of volunteers, organized through local parishes, which minister to the poor on a regular basis and meet together to pray, discuss strategies, opportunities, and support and encourage each other. Conference members also conduct one-on-one home visits and do what they can to meet the needs of every individual in their area who requires assistance. Conference members also spend time working in food pantries and planning events and fundraisers for their local area. Volunteering at a Conference is also a good way to “try out” volunteering with SVdP and gauging where your interests lie.
Service Hour Learning Requirements- Students who are looking to record hours
Need to complete community service hours as part of an academic requirement? Consider volunteering at SVdP.
Not Sure Where You Fit
Are you still not sure where you fit in? Do you still want to make a difference? Please consider helping with special events. Just leave your contact information with us, and we will contact you as the need arises.
