In August several of the SVdP conferences throughout Santa Clara County held their annual Back-to-School Supply Drive. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters we were able to provide backpacks packed with school supplies to hundreds of students to ensure they had what was needed to start the school year. Barbara Pollock of our St. John Vianney Conference said “We asked the parishioners to donate back packs, notebooks, binder paper, pens, crayons and other items. The response was wonderful! We were able to give away 75 back packs filled with supplies to families we’ve helped during the year. The children were able to pick out their favorite backpack and their excitement and smiles made it all worthwhile. Ensuring children have what is needed to hit the ground running is key to paving the way to a stress free start to the school year.” Founded in 1946, The Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Santa Clara County is a 501(c)3 non-profit and through the generosity of local donors, corporations and foundations has been providing support for the needy and impoverished in Santa Clara County for over 70-years.
