Grocery Outlet is committed to helping to community, and their commitment to the community extends well beyond their storefront. They pride themselves on giving back to local communities through their Independence from Hunger drive, which supports over 400 local agencies.
Spanning the entire month of July, the Independence from Hunger campaign collects food and cash donations in-store at Grocery Outlet’s 300 plus stores, along with online donations. Their 2018 drive raised more than $1.7 million for families in need, and with your support this July they hope to meet the goal of $2 million!
We stopped by the San Jose Location at 3140 Williams Road and were greeted by members of SVdP’s St. Lucy Conference. St Lucy’s SVdP team has been participating in the Independence from Hunger event for the past 3-years and sees this event as an opportunity to raise awareness, additional donations and food to help needy families in the community.
If you want to stop by and say hi to Linda and the team they are there on Monday and Wednesday, 12:30 – 2:30 through the month of July. This is a great way to help those in need and SVdP wants to express our gratitude to Grocery Outlet and the SVdP Conference at St Lucy for all their efforts.
