Laurie Va
vuris- A 60 year resident of Palo Alto, passed away on December 7, 2018. Laurie was a dedicated member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Conference at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish where she served as the Past President and most recently as Spiritual Director.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Vavuris who was also very active in the Society of St. Vincent de Paul serving as President of the St. Thomas Aquinas Parish Conference, President of the Santa Clara County Council, and Director of Western Region of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, USA. Laurie is survived by – sons Joe, Martin, Rob, and Ken – daughters Kathryn Guernsey, Marjorie Khosrovi, Ruth Duterte, Jeanette Scott, Irene Halderman, their caring spouses, and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Laurie was a compassionate and caring individual who spent countless hours assisting those in need through her activity with St. Vincent de Paul and will be greatly missed by her fellow Vincentians.
Laurie Vavuris’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 18th at 11:30 at Our Lady of the Rosary church at 3233 Cowper St. in Palo Alto.
